Dear Members and Supporters,
As the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continue, we want you to know that the staff and board of directors of EFAO are thinking about you. More than ever, this pandemic has put into focus the important work we are all doing to grow local food that supports food security, food sovereignty, food safety and a diversity of supply chains.
EFAO’s community has always been our strength. This pandemic will impact us all in some way but please know that you are not alone. As we all practice social distancing, we don’t have to become socially isolated.
How you can stay connected:
-
Our Guelph office is currently closed and staff are working remotely as best as possible until further notice. We will continue to be available by phone and email. We are monitoring our email and will be checking the office voicemail 2-3x per week.
-
We are cancelling upcoming in-person meetings and events and will move them online or postpone them until it is safe to reconvene in person.
-
In the meantime, we will find ways to bring our network together to learn, share knowledge and support one another through virtual events, meet-ups and other online forums – look for information about virtual Kitchen Table Meetings later this week.
-
Contact Katie (katie@efao.ca) if you are interested in hosting a virtual Kitchen Table Meeting on a topic at the top of your mind – farming, food security, climate change, community, direct marketing, etc.
-
Take advantage of EFAO’s online resources.
Please be in touch if you have any questions. We look forward to coming together again to enjoy the beauty of Ontario farms.
Yours,
Ali and the EFAO Team
