EFAO’s new pilot Small Grains Program is now accepting applications for the 2021 harvest.
Program participants will receive payment of $40/acre on up to 100 acres to add a small grain (e.g. wheat, spelt, barley, oats, rye, triticale) for harvest in 2021 and follow it with a cover crop or forage crop with at least one legume species.
Additional support includes access to the Small Grains Network, with access to a new small grains e-newsletter, field days, workshops, and monthly “shared learning calls” featuring industry experts, innovative small grains farmers and discussion on production and marketing topics. All applicants to the program will receive a voucher to attend one Field Day free of charge.
