Two weeks, two sessions, and two helpful coaches to get your marketing plan in order for 2025!
Led by two supportive and experienced farmers and marketing coaches, this two part interactive learning experience is designed to help you overcome barriers and be inspired to create and implement an effective marketing strategy for your farm. Participants should have a strong sense of their products and markets, but are looking to grow sales, diversify marketing channels and grow their business. Farms of all types, scales and product offerings will find these sessions helpful – including fruits, vegetables, field crops, livestock and agri-tourism/on-farm experiences. The first session will be recorded and shared with participants, but to make the most of this experience, it is essential that participants attend both sessions live. (The second session will not be recorded and shared.)
Session 1: Learning and Inspiration – April 9, 12-2PM
In the first session, presenters will share marketing strategy case studies, including plans, implementation and results. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas related to their own marketing plans. Participants will leave session one with a list of prompting questions to work on their own plans before session two, with an opportunity to stay connected to coaches and peers by email.
Session 2: Workshopping Your Ideas – April 23, 12-2PM
In session two, participants will have the opportunity to workshop their marketing strategies and ideas, and receive feedback from their peers and coaches in real time. Along the way, participants will pick up helpful tips, expert advice, and tons of inspiration for creating effective marketing strategies.
This two-part workshop is for you if:
- You run an established farm business and want to see it go to the next level, with improved sales and marketing; or
- Your farm business sales aren’t performing to the level you want or need, and you’re looking for support to troubleshoot and take your business and marketing up a notch; or
- You have an existing farm business and are looking to embark on selling new products or services; or

This is a unique opportunity to join a supportive learning environment with engaged peers and coaches. Leave with new ideas and inspirations and an actionable plan to strategically address your farm business’ 4Ps for 2025. If you’re looking for an opportunity to reboot or finesse your marketing plan just ahead of the 2025 season, this is it!
Meet the Farmer-Coaches:
Akosua Asare runs re.Planted Farm, an urban flower farm based in Deep River, Ontario. She cultivates cut flowers for weddings, a CSA, retail and wholesale on less than 2200 sq ft of growing space, using organic and regenerative agricultural practices, in Zone 4b. Prior to re.Planted, Akos ran a nearly 6-figure e-commerce business that even landed her on CBC’s Dragon’s Den.
Brent Klassen and his wife Val Steinmann have lived at Heartwood Farm in Erin, Ontario since moving from Toronto many years ago. During that time, they’ve raised a variety of grass-fed livestock, made maple syrup, and planted fruit and nut orchards. In 2015 Heartwood Farm & Cidery was born and now produces a variety of hard ciders that are commercially available at Heartwood’s farm store, a few farmers’ markets, and at selected local restaurants. Prior to establishing the cidery, Brent was the founding partner of a couple marketing firms.
This workshop is supported by funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario.
