Northern Farm Start-Up Grant Program

EFAO is not currently accepting applications for the Northern Farm Start-Up Grant Program.

With generous funding support from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario, EFAO was able to support new and beginning farmers with both mentorship and grant funding to help build resilient, ecological farms in the north. 

• 12 new and beginning farmers in Northern Ontario received $74,442 in funding (at 50% cost-share) for start-up equipment. 

• 52% of grant funding was distributed to BIPOC farmers.

• 50+ mentorship meetings between start-up grant applicants and farmer mentors took place.
