With a footprint of about a half acre, Spiral Farm is a human-scale market garden growing produce for a CSA program, with a focus on the reduction of tillage, fossil fuel use, and animal-based inputs. Martina Schaefer runs Spiral Farm part-time on her own, on rented land in rural Elora. Take a virtual tour of the farm, and hear more about growing part-time on a small footprint and a shoestring budget.

This event is offered as part of the Ignatius Farm New Farmer Training Program. Educational content is geared toward new farmers, but is open to all farmers who might be curious about a certain topic, wishing to expand their farming knowledge, or in need of a refresh.

Anyone wishing to attend the full Term 2 can register here. Registering for Term 2 does not require you to register for each individual session.

In order to make our training and community building events accessible to all farmers (and future farmers) in Ontario, the Ignatius New Farmer Training Program strives to cover registration fees for anyone facing financial barriers. Need assistance covering the registration fee? Let us know!
