Rotational Grazing of Sheep with Pasture Hill Farm
Wednesday August 26, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Interested in adding a sheep flock to your farm? Curious about how rotationally grazing sheep differs from grazing beef? Jim and Wanda Johnston have been raising grass-fed beef and pastured lamb at Pasture Hill Farm in New Liskeard for 27 years and have a commercial-sized flock of 650 ewes. Before moving to farming full-time, Jim worked as the Forage and Sheep Researcher at the New Liskeard Agricultural Research Station.
Watch a pre-recorded virtual tour of Pasture Hill Farm, and then join Jim and OMAFRA Forage and Grazing Specialist Christine O’Reilly for a webinar presentation on rotational grazing, including best practices, forage growing cycles, how to improve forage yield and quality, and more.
This event is offered as part of the Ignatius Farm New Farmer Training Program. Educational content is geared toward new farmers, but is open to all farmers who might be curious about a certain topic, wishing to expand their farming knowledge, or in need of a refresh.
