Beyond Land Acknow-ledgements
Tuesday November 2, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Join farmers Aric Aguonie who lives in Tweed, Ontario in the Huron-Wendat traditional lands, and Paul Wartman who lives in Mi’kma’ki (Nova Scotia), for a creative exercise that guides participants through a 4-step planning tool to include reconciliatory justice into our everyday actions. Informed by their experiences, participants will reflect on how they can take meaningful action. You will leave with resources to continue learning, next steps to integrate better relations into your lives and farming careers, and inspiration from the group. Plus, you’ll be practicing a sweet little planning tool that you can apply to any situation. Everyone welcome, bring a pen/pencil, and paper.
Facilitator: Aric Aguonie from Earth Haven Farm and Paul Wartman from Floreren Farm
This event is offered as part of the Ignatius Farm New Farmer Training Program. Educational content is geared toward new farmers, but is open to all farmers who might be curious about a certain topic, wishing to expand their farming knowledge, or in need of a refresh.
Anyone wishing to attend the full Term 4 can register here. Registering for Term 4 does not require you to register for each individual session.
In order to make our training and community building events accessible to all farmers (and future farmers) in Ontario, the Ignatius New Farmer Training Program strives to cover registration fees for anyone facing financial barriers. Need assistance covering the registration fee? Let us know!
