Agronomy and Weed Management for Organic Dry Bean Production
Thursday August 15 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Due to restrictions from the venue, public registration has now closed. If you are hoping to attend, we may be able to accommodate if you reach out directly to events@efao.ca.
Join us for a field day at Harrow Organic Farm and Harrow Research and Development Centre, focused on the agronomy and weed management of organic dry beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). With the EU Green Deal requiring 25% of agricultural production to meet organic standards by 2030, this is a crucial time for the Canadian organic dry bean sector to expand.
This event will delve into current research focused on increasing yield and competitiveness of organic dry beans through optimizing early-season crop vigor and competitiveness by manipulating agronomic factors. Key topics include weed management, pest resistance traits, and sustainable pest management solutions for various dry bean market classes.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights, explore cutting-edge research, and network with fellow farmers and experts in organic dry bean production. This work hopes to give information and resources to support established, new, or transitioning organic growers.
