On-Farm Climate Action Fund Information Session
Monday February 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) is excited to continue delivering the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) to Ontario farmers.
Farmers who are interested in learning more about the program can participate in a virtual information session co-hosted by OSCIA and EFAO. The first half of this session will provide an overview of the program, with time for questions. The second half will walk through the application process in detail. You’re invited to participate in as much of the info session as you would like to attend.
Program information, including the new program guide can be found at: Ontario On-Farm Climate Action Fund | OSCIA (ontariosoilcrop.org)
The intake will open to receive applications from February 13th 9am ET to February 27th 5pm ET, 2024.
Practices that will be supported under the program include in-field nitrogen management, cover cropping practices, and establishing or expanding rotational grazing systems:
- Planting new acres of cover crops, or leaving a cover crop over winter where it has always been terminated in the fall
- Setting up permanent perimeter and cross-fencing, to establish new rotational grazing systems (fencing for silvopasture system can be an eligible expense)
- Trying dual action nitrogen stabilizers or organic amendments for the first time
