Join this farm tour and discussion and hear about Rob and Patricia's journey and lessons learned over the past 7 seasons. They have tried their hands at different iterations of multiple farm enterprises and have worked hard to forge a sustainable path for themselves and their farm. In addition to hearing their story and experiences with soil health management on the farm, participants can expect to meet the holistically grazed, Black Angus beef cattle,  heritage-breed, pastured pigs, pastured poultry, and tour the market garden.

Proper pasture management is a perpetual challenge.  After 47 years, Joe Banbury thinks he might be catching on.  He invites you to join him for an afternoon field walk and discussion of his pasture management practices over the years.  He will share some insights and challenges, in including how to work a fine sandy loam, which is very subject to erosion.  At Banbury Farms, they breed pure polled Shorthorn cattle and have experimented with several pasture species not common in Ontario.  And for several years they pastured corn in the winter.  You will also be introduced to the senior herd sire who turned 13 years old on the 7th of February this year, who will probably be with a group of heifers in July.
