SUMMARY:COVID-19 Adaptations for Direct Market
DESCRIPTION:Join Kim and Pat from Cornell Farms as they host a conversation for direct market livestock producers to reflect on an unprecedented season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kim and Pat will begin by sharing adaptation strategies that worked for them and provide the opportunity for farmers to share their own adaptations\, what worked and what didn’t\, and what strategies they will be keeping for the 2021 season. This will be a great opportunity to learn from and share with other direct market producers farmers in Ontario. \n  \nA zoom link will be sent to registrants ahead of the event. French translation to follow. \n  \nTime: 1:30pm – 3:00pm EST \n  \nThis event has been made possible by funding from the COVID-19 Response Program\, led by the Rural Agri-Innovation Network (RAIN) with funding from FedNor. \n  \n        \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:New Farmer Meet-up: Seed Saving Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Join Rebecca Ivanoff\, EFAO Seed Program Manager\, for this informal discussion. \nRebecca holds a M.S. in Anthropology and International Development from the University of Guelph and in 2013\, she joined Whole Circle Farm as a CRAFT intern\, and stayed on as staff to co-manage the 10-acre CSA and reintroduce seed production to the farm. Now as EFAO’s Seed Program Manager she supports farmers to learn about regional seed production\, and to implement participatory variety trials and plant breeding projects as part of The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security and EFAO’s Farmer-Led Research Program.  Bring your questions and ideas to this conversation! \nThis event is designed as a discussion space for new farmers but open to all EFAO members and those who are registered for Term 2 of the Ignatius New Farmer Training Program.
