SUMMARY:Silvopasture Meet-Up
DESCRIPTION:Silvopasture practitioners\, this is your opportunity to connect with others and discuss how your 2022 season is going so far. The session will begin with an update on the “Living Fences\, Silvopasture\, and Sheep Products” Field Day happening at All Sorts Acres the week prior. Participants will then have the opportunity to share updates on their silvopasture work this year and hear the same from others. Bring your silvopasture questions and quandaries to crowdsource ideas and inspiration from the group. While there is no pressure to prepare in advance\, participants are encouraged to share photos if relevant. Those who are not actively practicing silvopasture are invited to attend to listen and ask questions as time allows. \nAre you interested in joining a passionate community of folks engaged in silvopasture? EFAO members can email cassie@efao.ca to be added to the Silvopasture Network\, where participants share silvopasture questions\, resources\, and ideas with a supportive group. \n

SUMMARY:Getting Started with Rotational Grazing
DESCRIPTION:Join Jim Johnston from Pasture Hill Farm for an interactive Q&A session on his approach to rotational grazing in Northern Ontario. Jim and Wanda Johnston have been raising 100% grass-fed beef and pastured lamb at Pasture Hill Farm in New Liskeard for the past 28 years\, and have a commercial-sized flock of 650 ewes. Before moving to farming full-time\, Jim worked as the Forage and Sheep Researcher at the New Liskeard Agricultural Research Station. \n  \nJim will start the session off by talking about how he manages rotational grazing on his farm\, then we will open the session up for questions and discussion. Please bring your questions about how to approach establishing or expanding a grass-fed beef or sheep operation\, and the principles and practicalities of rotational grazing! \n  \n*Before attending the session\, please take the time to watch this recorded Farm Tour of Pasture Hill Farm\, which showcases Jim and Wanda’s rotational grazing practices. \n  \nMember Month Meet-Ups are free and open to anyone.
